You don’t want that since you’ve purchased a unit to help you do things better or a computer that is fast, efficient and trouble-free to use in the first place. However, users may put more stuff on their units in the long run. This may include more programs installed on the system, more files created and stored on the disk, more utilities launched, more applications run and so on. Basically, the more things you have on your system, the messier and slower it’ll get and for many different reasons too. The main cause or the common symptom of having a slow system is malware penetration. Typically, your PC can pick up malicious viruses and spyware from numerous likely sites and forwarded emails.

Spywares can run instantly and they are installed without any prompt and visuals. As for forwarded emails, these are typical carriers of viruses which have gone through several email systems before hitting yours. When you let a spyware or a virus in your system, albeit unknowingly, the worst that could happen is getting a corrupted operating system (OS) and a useless hardware. Another reason for a slow running computer is an outdated OS or a system that has a poor memory. Other triggers may involve a hard disk that just needs defragmenting or a network controller that’s overworked. At any rate, it’s best to figure out what’s causing the system holdup and apply various solutions to eliminate the glitch.

Essentially, you can defragment the system to compress all the distributed data together and help the computer run faster. To deal with malicious programs, you need to have an updated antivirus application in place. As for old files and unsorted programs, you can initiate windows registry cleaning, deleting old files with broken links and clearing it every now and then so that they can take less space and more running time.
